Week One: Chapters 1- 4

Theme: Biblical Paradoxes
Day 1:
-Split into ISLANDS (See Major Projects #1)
-Assign Week 1 roles
- Likert Scales and discussion
-Introduction to Golding*
-Introduce Vocab for Chapter 1
-Read to students pages 7-17 (to the intro of the conch)
Day 2:
-Split into ISLANDS and complete note card
-Discuss end of Chapter 1 (Taking advantage of assigned roles)
-Introduce Vocab for Chapter 2
-Book on Tape pages 32-42 (beginning of the fire)
  • HOMEWORK: Finish Chapter 2 and Dictionary Page
Day 3:
-Split into ISLANDS and complete note card
-Discuss end of Chapter 2 Split into occupation groups of Project #1
-Introduce Vocab for Chapter 3
-Read groups all of Chapter 3
Day 4:
-Split into ISLANDS and complete note card
-Discuss Chapter 3 (ROLES)
-Introduce Vocab for Chapter 4
-Book on Tape pages 58 to 68 (entrance of Jack and Hunters)
